so I amalgamated those elements in one fabulous DIY gift wrap project and they looked and smelled fabulous.
Saw this on Pinterest and, problem solved.
To make the DIY garland presents start with a neutral base color and cut small triangles from colorful paper.

String the triangles along a length of yarn with hot glue and wrap around the presents.
I also had a cheap package of small pom poms that the younger ones could use with safe glue.
