Start by sewing the upper row with a 1/4 seam allowance then press the seams towards one side.

Next, sew the second row and alternate the pressing direction.
Sew the rows together then press the seams.
This will be panel A.

Step 2:
Cut two pieces of panel B measuring 7 1/2 x 2.
Sew to the lower part of panel A.
Make two pieces of this block.
Step 3:
Cut 2 pieces of panel C measuring 7 1/2 x 9 rectangles.
Step 4:
Lay out 8 pieces of 4 squares, 4 squares on each row.
Sew two at a time then press in alternating directions.
Sew panel E to the short sides of panel D. This will be the front panel.
Step 6:
Lay 16 pieces of 4 squares, 8 pieces in each row.
Sew two at a time then press in alternating directions.
Sew the two panels to the short sides of panel F. This will be the back panel.
Place it on top.
Now take the front panel and lay on the top right side up.
Baste all the layers.
Once done, quilt your panel in any design you want.
Step 9:
Lay the lining fabric wrong side up.
Cut two pieces of insulated batting measuring 7 1/2 x 9.
Place one on top of the lining then put the panel A. Baste and quilt as desired.
Do the same for the other one.
Step 12:
Bind the double oven mittens.
