Add 1/2 cup of sugar to a pot and place over heat.
Cook the sugar for about 5 to 7 minutes until it turns into a dark amber caramel syrup.
Continuously stir to avoid burning.

Rotate the pan to spread the caramel syrup evenly.
Step 3:
Peel and slice the apples in quarters.
Place in a big bowl.

Mix and bring the mixture to a boil.
Remove the apples from the pie.
Step 6:
Arrange the apple quarters very tightly in a circle around the pan.
Gently press them with your hands to ensure there are no gaps in between.
Step 7:
Lay the puff pastry on a parchment paper flat.
Place another pan measuring 9-inches upside down into the center of the puff pastry.
Trace and cut the circle using a knife, and remove the excess pastry.
Poke holes all over the circle puff pastry using a fork.
Step 9:
Place in a 356 F preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes.
