Step 1
First, prep the ingredients.
Chop 1 yellow onion and mince 6 cloves of garlic.
In a big pot, add 2 tbsp unsalted butter and 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil.

Set the stove on medium heat and melt the butter.
Once the butter is melted, add the chopped onions and stir occasionally for about 8 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and by this time, stir them constantly as the garlic burn fast.

Cook it for about 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, add 2 cans of whole peeled tomatoes.
Stir them in and bring the soup to a boil and let it simmer for about half an hour.
(you might add more later to taste.)
After it is reduced, pulse the soup until smooth consistency.
Finish off the soup by adding 3/4 cup of heavy cream and stirring it in to combine.
Transfer into a bowl and put some fresh basil over the top.
