The small bubbles on these sheets serve as insulating pockets filled with air.
This is called the bubble wrap insulation method which increases the resistance of heat flow on glass.
It is a good and cheap choice to cool your room while still having natural light.

Step 2:
Remove the hard edge from the sheets using your scissors.
Cut the bubble wrap into the size of the window pane.
Then lay it on a flat surface with the bubble side facing up.
Get a cloth, dip it in the water, then wet the bubble side of the sheet.
Step 3:
Wet the inside face of the window glass using a wet cloth.
you’ve got the option to also use a spray bottle if you like.
Then gently stick the wet bubble side of the sheet to the wet glass.
