Put your strips onto the set of 3s then sew them together.

Cut them into 6-1/2 inch blocks.

Lay the first block horizontally then vertically.

Do this alternately until you have 8 by 9 blocks.

The quilt will be 49 by 55 inches.

Self Binding Quilt by Jenny Doan Steps

Once done, sew the batting.

Step 2:

Mark the middle on all sides of the backing fabric.

Do the same for your quilt.

Lay the backing fabric right side up then place the quilt on the top wrong side up.

see to it they are aligned on top.

Secure the top with pins.

Measure half an inch horizontally from the top left corner edge of the quilt then mark.

Then do it vertically.

Do the same for all 3 corners.

Also, mark a start and stop on the top edge.

Once done, pull the bottom of the quilt up to the bottom of the backing fabric.

Match them middle to the middle then pin.

Do the same for the sides.

Do a back tack to check that it stays in place.

Do the same for all sides.

Get a ruler and place it diagonally from the stitch to the bottom fold.

The diagonal line should measure 4 inches.

ensure that the straight line in your ruler is aligned on the fold.

Draw a line using a marker.

Sew along the line.

Do the same for the four corners then trim off the excess.

Step 5:

Pull the right side out from the opening.

Press using an iron.

Stitch the border with any punch in of stitch you want.
