Prepare and cut out all the materials needed using new or scrap fabrics.

To make the kite-shaped template, measure and draw out a 10-inch square on paper.

Then, mark four and a quarter inches on both sides of one corner.

Using the templates, cut out your kite sections.

Cut 2-inch strips from your interfacing fabrics.

Then, iron out the tape on top of a separate fabric.

Position the middle kite section on top of the batting fabric, lining up both side edges exactly.

Attach the short edge of the kite template with fabric glue.

Flip the strip and press as you go.

Repeat with the next strip on the opposite side of the previous strip.

Continue adding strips until you have reached the edge.

Cut off the excess strip fabrics.

Repeat the process with the opposite side of the kite section.

use iron to press the whole block.

Flip the block over and trim it to the exact size of the backing square.

Repeat with the rest of the blocks.

Stick on 1-inch-wide painting tape on both sides of the kite section.

Place two more tapes along the kite sections side edges.

Sew to quilt the small kite template that you have made from the tape.

Remove the tape and place it on top of the remaining blocks that follow.

Repeat quilting on the smaller kite.

When all the blocks are done, it is time to attach everything.

Place one block on top of another facing the right side and sew a 3/8-inch seam.

Press the seam open using an iron.

Cut out and line cover strips on top of the back seams using fabric glue.

Repeat with the rest of the seams.

Sew it in place.

Using the iron, neatly press the fabric.Repeat the cover strip process with the previous strip joined.
