For this recipe, the sweet potatoes are cooked on the stovetop and not in the oven.

These are super easy to make and dont require a lot of ingredients, perfect for this holiday season.

Place them in a bowl.

Step 2:
Add 1 stick of butter to a deep pot and let it melt.
Add 3/4 cup of brown sugar and mix with the butter.
Mix until the butter is completely melted.

Step 3:
Add 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 cup of white sugar to the pot.
Give it a good stir until it becomes thick and smooth.
Step 4:
Squeeze 1 orange and add the juice to the mixture.
Give it a good stir until well incorporated.
Step 5:
Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the pot.
Mix until everything is coated with the sauce.
Let it come to a simmer, then mix it again.
Step 6:
Place the lid on the pot.
Let it steam for about 8 minutes.
Use a toothpick to look to see if the sweet potatoes are already cooked.
Once done, transfer the sweet potatoes to a baking tray.
Step 8:
Let the sauce cook for another 25 minutes until its thick.
Step 9:
Pour the sauce right on top of the sweet potatoes.
